Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Winterhawks and several collegiate teams. We are looking for a per-diem (scheduled as needed) Medical Records Specialist to support our Medical Records Team at our Stonemill location in Vancouver, WA. Primary duties include processing medical record and images requests and assisting with medical record and form duties. This position will work to provide exceptional service to our patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and follow up with the Images and medical records request.
  • Import outside records to Rebound electronic health records.
  • Import the Images to Rebound’s PACS.
  • Support patient with PACS portal for images request.
  • Support patients with patient portal.
  • Request outside medical record and imaging for ancillary studies done at outside facilities ordered by Rebound Physicians.
  • Provide an advance report for patients' upcoming appointment to ensure the outside records and images are imported to the EHRs and PACS
  • Ensure that the medical records and images are organized, accurate and complete
  • Answer phones, emails, and FAXs regarding medical record and form questions/requests, including tasks and portal messages as assigned.
  • Document all release of information as indicated by standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Upload medical records and completed forms (such as FMLA and Disability) in to the patient electronic health record systems.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  • Assist patient with the patient portal issue.
  • Ensure to scan quality of documents and photos remain high at all times.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned such as covering for mailroom and form processing, if needed.

Requirements:

  • High school graduation or GED or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
  • Previous medical records office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical records filing systems.
  • Skill in English grammar and spelling.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files, reports and other correspondence.
  • Ability to focus on computer details for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to operate computer, scanners, photocopiers, and fax machines.
  • Multi-tasking skill, organization skill, and great customer services skill are preferred.
