Preliminary Design Review Engineer

Solid State Devices, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Preliminary Design Review Engineer to join our Semiconductor Manufacturing Team! As a PDR Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating Preliminary Design Review process for our semiconductor products.

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Package Design: Collaborating with design teams to develop packaging concepts that meet the electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements of chip and wire devices.
  • Wire Bonding: Designing and optimizing wire bonding processes to ensure reliable and efficient interconnections between the semiconductor chips and external leads.
  • Material Selection: Identifying and selecting appropriate materials for wire bonding, such as bonding wires, adhesives, and encapsulants, considering factors like electrical conductivity, thermal properties, and reliability.
  • Process Development: Developing and optimizing wire bonding processes, including wire bonding machine setup, parameter optimization, and quality control measures.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Conducting tests and evaluations to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of chip and wire packages under various conditions.
  • Failure Analysis: Investigating and analyzing any failures or issues related to wire bonding, and implementing corrective actions to improve yield and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of chip and wire packaging solutions into the overall semiconductor manufacturing process. Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including specifications, design guidelines, and test procedures specific to chip and wire technology.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics, integrated circuit design, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and design tools commonly used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability tor prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in performing design simulations and analyses, using tools such as SPICE, Verilog, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry trends, emerging technologies, and product development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the semiconductor industry.

Training & Experience

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years (minimum) of related work experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing, with a focus on Product Design and Development.

Schedule: Full-time / Monday - Friday

Salary: $100K-$150K Annual / Bi-Weekly Pay Schedule (Direct Deposit Available)
