Job Description

Position Summary

The Marketing Project Manager will work closely with the Director, Marketing Communications, and marketing team members to ensure projects are prioritized, assigned and delivered on time. The Marketing Project Manager will oversee multiple projects and be involved in all phases of the creative process including design, production, copy & script writing, and development to ensure high-priority projects are on-track and have the proper resources available. Resources to include internal and external partners.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for leading weekly team meetings to review departmental projects and reporting on status, ensuring that all projects are on track.
  • Direct the work of the Traffic Coordinator, Marketing, Sr. Graphic Designer, Marketing & the Jr. Graphic Designer, Marketing.
  • Responsible for managing the execution of concurrent and complex projects from conception through delivery, including managing scope and resources, scheduling, budget tracking, developing project plans, and providing status updates to both project stakeholders and executive teams
  • Liaise between marketing team and internal customers to directly manage projects that support AWS’s multiple lines of business.
  • Monitor and drive projects throughout our workflow to ensure process is followed and team meets all deadlines.
  • Preflight new projects for multiple lines of business to ensure required assets and information are provided before moving to team assignment.
  • Develop and provide the scheduling process, which will include major milestones, tasks, and critical path.
  • Manage project resource allocation – monitoring team effort, bandwidth, and working with team leads to load-level for high priority projects, and agility to accomplish quick-turn projects.
  • Support effective team building and positive motivation between marketing and external resources with internal business unit customers.
  • Activities include assigning, scheduling, coaching, and communicating deliverables.
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to create regular reports that outline project activity including number of projects, tasks, on-time deliverables, and results against goals.

Supervision Exercised

  • Direct the work of the Traffic Coordinator, Marketing, Sr. Graphic Designer, Marketing & the Jr. Graphic Designer, Marketing.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Power Point, Excel; Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
  • Able to quickly assimilate into the marketing team and have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of team and department within the association.
  • Ability to quickly master procedures, processes and systems.
  • Demonstratable experience with major social media platforms and social media management tools.
  • Knowledge or familiarity in agile marketing a plus.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field.
  • 3-5 years of traffic or project management experience with in-house marketing department, design studio, creative department, or agency.
  • Experience in project management, managing digital and traditional marketing tactics and campaigns.
  • Experience with workflow/project management tools – Wrike, Monday, Microsoft Project or similar.

Special Requirements, Licenses, or Certifications

PMP Certification Preferred.

Working Conditions and Required Physical Abilities

This position is located in a quiet to moderately noisy indoor office environment.

Individuals in this type of position must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate with other employees and the public through use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, sit, stand, hear, use of fingers in order to handle, feel or operate objects and write.

Must have the physical capabilities to move about the office and to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as but not limited to personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machines. Must be able to remain seated at a keyboard or desk for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push/pull articles weighing up to 20 lbs.
