InLine: Underground Construction Foreman Position
Position Summary: InLine seeks an experienced Underground Construction Foreman to lead our dynamic crew. This role is critical for overseeing the installation and maintenance of vital communications infrastructure and electrical components for transportation systems. The Foreman will manage directional boring, vibratory plowing, trenching, Pull Box setting, duct and conduit installation, and cable pulling operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct the installation and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signals, and roadway lighting systems.
- Train and provide technical support to team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet operational standards.
- Oversee the completion of reports, and logs, and ensure effective shift-to-shift communications in line with company policies and local practices.
- Liaise with project management and Department ofTtransportation personnel to coordinate project activities.
- Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of work.
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of all work activities.
- Document completed work to facilitate accurate payment processing.
- Approve payroll and manage leave requests for team members.
- Schedule and monitor vehicle and equipment maintenance to prevent operational disruptions.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for crews, equipment, and materials to ensure projects are completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- At least 5 years of related experience in underground construction management.
- Over 10 years of experience in communications infrastructure, electrical, and/or ITS construction/maintenance.
- Project management training from a college, university, or trade school is highly desirable.
- Journeyman Electrician Certification or higher is advantageous.
- IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician certification or better is preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and project specifications.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conducting presentations and writing detailed reports.
- Strong mechanical and computer skills, including familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, adverse weather conditions, and traffic.
- Hazardous Materials Training and IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Certifications are considered a plus.
Schedule:
- 8-10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
