Material Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for receiving products in and shipping customer orders to ensure on-time delivery goals are met. This role performs a variety of warehouse functions including order selection, packaging, shipping, receiving, and material put-away.
Position Description / Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Prepares documentation, verifies accuracy and maintains records.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallets jacks and forklifts
- Ensures incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately in the ERP system and labeled appropriately.
- Determine whether a material meets the definition of Hazardous Material and process in accordance with Hazmat Shipping Regulations.
- Conduct inventory control actions; cycle counts, rack-bin material labeling, variance investigations, and assist in root cause analysis
- Determine best method of shipment by reviewing freight rates, procedures, discounts available, international exporting procedures, ICC regulations
- Troubleshoot and solve problems independently with limited direction from supervisor
- Perform pick/pack functions to meet on-time delivery goals
- Maintain work area according to 5S standards.
- Provides training to team members as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment
- Willing and able to be trained and certified to drive a forklift
- Basic computer skills i.e navigating Microsoft Office Suite
- Read, comprehend, and follow written and visual work instructions
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job: push and pull containers on a pallet jack, repetitive bending and stooping, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds, and occasional lifting overhead
- Must be able to work overtime as needed with limited notice.
Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience performing shipping/receiving functions
- 1+ year of experience utilizing an ERP system i.e. SAP
- Experience driving a forklift with prior forklift certification
