Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness. Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. The System Administrator will design, organize, modify, and support the organization’s network, physical and virtual server environment, and computer systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the
infrastructure - Maintain system efficiency
- Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together
- Troubleshoot problems reported by users
- Make recommendations for future upgrades
- Assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of large
projects within the organization - Maintain network and system security
- Analyze and isolate issues
- Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users
- Evaluate and modify system's performance
- Identify user needs
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with
technical considerations - Design and deploy networks
- Perform network address assignment
- Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
- Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal
computers as well as printers - Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems
- Administer Hypervisor, all physical and virtual servers, desktop computers, printers, routers,
switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment,
security updates and patches - Will attend inter-departmental meetings as required
- Must comply with all AHCH policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a complex, multi-department setting
- Must have strong project management skills
- Ability to work with end users with a variety of technological skill levels
- Must have ability to analyze data and effectively communicate impact/meaning of data
- High level of organization and adherence to deadlines
- Ability to develop and implement short-and long-range computer systems, capacity,
technology, and operational plans - Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and integrate computer systems development, enhancement, and
modifications from overall information services perspective - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of related work experience
- 3 years of Systems Administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience implementing Electronic Health Record and/or Practice Management
System - 2 years of reporting and programming experience
- 2 years of experience in project management experience
- Experience in and IT department at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or other
community health setting - Experience working with an Electronic Health Record
