Job Summary:
We are in search of a Project Estimator/Project Manager who specializes in highway infrastructure projects. This role demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to accurately assess project plans, specifications, and proposals to create precise cost, time, and labor estimates. Your role will be critical in guiding our projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality delivery that exceeds our clients' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for guardrail and related infrastructure projects, focusing on accuracy and project specifications.
- Use Bluebeam and our proprietary software for efficient and accurate takeoffs and estimates.
- Manage the full scope of project documentation, from contract review to project closeout, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Coordinate with clients to schedule estimates, emphasizing timeliness and client convenience.
- Source materials, issue purchase orders, and oversee project finances to optimize profitability and efficiency.
- Perform audits on project execution to align actual labor hours with estimated figures, refining future estimates.
- Oversee project management from start to finish, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
- Lead project teams, managing site activities and ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Preferred college degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a relevant field.
- 4 years of experience in estimating and project management, particularly in the highway infrastructure sector. Experience with IDOT projects is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Bluebeam and estimation software, with a thorough understanding of construction plans and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and team/customer engagement.
Language Skills:
- Proficient in interpreting construction plans, safety rules, and procedural manuals.
- Capable of producing routine reports and correspondence with clarity.
- Strong verbal communication abilities for clear information delivery to clients and team members.
