Job Title : IT Infrastructure Specialist
Work Location : Onsite at Greer, SC 29651
Work schedule : Mon - Fri 8-5, occasional weekend, evening, and holiday work necessary
Duration : 12 months, with the possibility of further extension for a long duration
Position Purpose/Scope:
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and support of IT infrastructure solutions from concept to deployment. Run complex operational/technical projects.
  • Manage enterprise IT systems, including cloud computing, servers, and storage, ensuring alignment with client-defined standards.
  • Provide proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations and expert guidance on implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance IT infrastructure solutions.
  • The successful candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for IT infrastructure systems, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), storage solutions (SAN, NAS), and cybersecurity frameworks (firewalls, intrusion prevention, encryption).
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and security tools.
  • Collaborate with external providers for the deployment and support of IT infrastructure services.
  • Ensure high availability of systems by implementing redundancy, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Optimize IT infrastructure performance through monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Adhere to compliance and audit requirements by enforcing security policies, implementing access controls, and supporting regulatory standards.
  • Manage ITIL processes, including change management, incident response, and configuration management, to ensure service stability and operational efficiency.
  • Document IT infrastructure design, configurations, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Support infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and decommissioning, to maintain system reliability and security.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to standardize processes, align on best practices, and support cross-functional IT initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring adherence to IT standards and driving skill development.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including automation, cloud-native services, and AI-driven IT operations, to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Communicate IT infrastructure strategies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity in decision-making processes.
  • Runs complex projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with only general direction from management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
NOTE : This position requires occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday work.
Education:
  • BS/BA in Information Technology OR AA/AS degree with 2 years of professional experience OR 4 years of equivalent IT experience.

Experience :
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, specializing in cloud services, storage, or enterprise IT systems.
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and security.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT project management
  • 3+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication skills in IT environments.
  • 3+ years of junior leadership experience managing IT projects.
Licenses and/or Certifications (Preferred):
  • ITIL certification.
  • IT Infrastructure, IT Architecture, or other relevant IT product certifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Utilize 5+ years of experience in IT applications, tools, and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Apply 3+ years of agile methodology principles in IT infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrate 2+ years of experience in supplier/vendor management.
  • Implement 1+ years of cloud technology experience, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solutions.
