Operations Manager Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager is works in tandem with planning to direct and coordinate the work activities and is responsible for providing the resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Oversees and coordinates the activities of inventory, production and operations workers and other departments such as Production Control, Stockroom, Shipping and Receiving, and Maintenance.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, and work procedures considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Coordinate production, processing, purchasing, distribution, and other manufacturing activities.
  • Confer with other manufacturing leadership to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problem.
  • Lead physical Inventory activities.
  • Lead WIP Inventory activities
  • Assists with hiring, training, evaluating, or discharging staff or resolve personnel grievances.
  • Enforce safety regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Management or equivalent is desired.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.

Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership desired.

Understands how changes in the organization affect the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Training: Develops, deploys and documents training within your teams. Provides feedback to team members during review sessions to enable development and growth.
