Job Description

Job Function/Purpose:


The Clinical Informatics Analyst position is blended role of account consultation, sales/design support, and operational support. The Clinical Informatics Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for the company within our healthcare accounts and assures us the appropriate solutions align with our client’s needs. The Clinical Informatics Analyst is the facilitator between the customer, the project installation team, and the technical services department. The Clinical Informatics Analyst will use available data and establish best practices to guide our customer base and help determine favorable outcomes while promoting Beacon’s healthcare systems and solutions. This role will also work hand in hand with sales and operations to both market and deploy these solutions. The Clinical Informatics Analyst will be accountable to the Director of Clinical Services with secondary accountability to the VP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible Clinical System workflow responsibilities on the project

a. Schedule and conduct needs meetings

b. Needs assessment / programming documentation

c. Other documentation as required

2. Responsible for Clinical Training responsibilities on the project

a. Develop/Coordinate all training handouts

b. Develop/Coordinate end user training manual

c. Develop/Conduct end user training sessions

d. Other documentation as required

3. Serve as the point of contact for The Technical Services and Project Management teams regarding system functionality specific to each project

4. Work with the Project Managers to obtain schedule and milestone dates for the project and work to meet those dates

5. Demonstrate ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule

6. Ability to understand data and informatics collected through our offerings and drive clinical outcomes for our customers

7. Position yourself as a consultant to both internal and external customers

8. Be available to provide support to sales, operational, and service staff in time of need

9. Maintain expertise on the latest clinical solutions that Beacon provides

10. Understand and prescribe the best fit solutions to a diverse set of healthcare customers

11. Demonstrate thorough understanding of Beacon Communications’ policies, procedures and guidelines

12. Demonstrate understanding of Beacon projects and focus on continued skill development in all areas

13. Arrive for work on time, dressed in a professional manner acceptable for the work to be performed

14. Realizing that customer relations and customer satisfaction is our primary goal, perform all work in a professional manner demonstrating courtesy and respect to Beacon customers

15. Articulating the business and technical value of our solutions and products to clinical and technical leadership decision makers

 

Job Qualifications:

 

1. The Clinical Informatics Analyst must possess a minimum of 3+ years’ experience as an RN in an acute care setting.

2. Must be capable of engaging in technical discussions in effort to achieve the best technical solutions for our customers, both internally and externally.

3. Must be willing to participate in continuing education for your area of expertise for continuing industry specific education.

4. Informatics Nursing Certification (NI-BC) is desired.

5. LEAN Healthcare training is desired.

6. Must be familiar with Nurse Call Systems and other complementary technologies such as real time locating and mobile solutions.

7. Must be able to understand and assist with creating workflow solutions for RTLS and nurse call systems.

8. Must have experience with data analysis and informatics.

Travel:

It is expected that this position will require a moderate amount (20% – 30%) of travel, as needed.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

2. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, well-organized.

3. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.

4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

5. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook

6. Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.

7. Valid and current driver’s license

 

Essential Functions:

1. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.

2. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.

3. Must maintain a clear background check to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.

4. Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.

5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.

6. Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required including the ability to navigate a construction jobsite.

7. Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
