POSITION SCOPE

The Batch Plant Loader Operator must have batch plant specific experience. The loader operator position is responsible for maintaining site stockpiles and working materials to provide compliant consistent materials to feed bins on the batch plant. The consistency of the material has a dramatic effect on concrete production and ultimately acceptance or rejection. Maintaining stockpiles and stockpile floors is a key component of the role, however additional duties will be assigned outside of paving operations. Those duties may include set-up of batch plant, water and dust control, general plant maintenance, yard clean-up and organization, etc. Operation of other equipment including water truck, Gannon tractor, reach lift, areal lift, etc. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment daily.

The position is a travelling position. Projects are primarily on military installations across the Wester United States. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain base access, and travel to and from jobsites. Per diem will be paid for time spent on remote worksites.

PAY RANGE

Prevailing Wage Range: $30-35 per hr base rate

Base rate is the lowest rate you can be paid, however prevailing wage rates apply at most installations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
  • Assist with setup and tear down of plants
  • Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
  • General housekeeping of equipment and job site on a daily basis or as directed by supervisor
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand and sit for extended time; and use hand tools
  • Individual must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
  • The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary
  • Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy
  • Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
  • Other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND:

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • CDL preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug testing is required
  • Must be willing and able to pass background check (no misdemeanors)
  • Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
  • Prevailing wage rates will be paid according to job specifications.
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment and able to perform routine maintenance
  • Subject to motor vehicle report review.
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
  • Work well in a team environment
