Job description

Job Title: Concrete Batch Plant Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Concrete Batch Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of one of our concrete plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete production, team leadership, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring consistent production of high-quality concrete while optimizing plant performance and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee all aspects of batch plant operations, including production scheduling, material inventory, and quality control.

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies; maintain a strong safety culture.

· Monitor and maintain batching equipment, silos, and scales; coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.

· Manage raw material ordering, quality testing, and inventory levels (cement, aggregates, admixtures, etc.).

· Maintain accurate production records, mix designs, and quality documentation.

· Troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

· Work closely with dispatch, sales, and quality control teams to meet customer delivery requirements.

· Control operational costs and meet or exceed plant performance targets.

· Conduct regular plant inspections and maintain cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Experience in the concrete industry and/or a management role is preferred but not required.

· Strong working knowledge of concrete mix designs, materials, and ASTM standards is preferred but not required.

· Experience with automated batching systems (e.g., Command Alkon, Marcotte, or similar).

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

· Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

· High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, and be on-call as needed.
