Cook Apprentice - Medstar Union Memorial - $21.30 hr

FoodServ Staffing is currently hiring a Cook Apprentice to work at Medstar Union Memorial. This is a full-time contract to hire position paying $21.30 per hour. Shift is 10:00am-7:00pm.

Cook Apprentice

• Previous experience with cold prep and reading menu items
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate with kitchen staff
• Must have knowledge of kitchen safety and cleanliness
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry for extended periods of time
• Must have a food handlers card or obtain one within 30 days of employment
• Must be able to pass a 7 year criminal background check

Additional requirements: TB test and 7 year criminal background check

The Cook Apprentice will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods to include breakfast, lunch, dinner and any special or catered events. The Cook Apprentice will participate in a 6-week training program while working. At the successful completion of the training program, the Cook Apprentice will be eligible to apply for a Cook I position. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below but may differ by location depending on business needs and client requirements.
