Compensation & Benefits


Current Plumbers Local 98 Journeyman compensation package effective June 1, 2026 includes:


● $52.19/hour taxable wage (straight-time pay)

● $35.06/hour employer-paid fringe benefits package

● Total compensation package valued at $87.25/hour


The fringe package includes healthcare coverage, pension benefits, training funds, and other union-sponsored benefits. This is a true union compensation package that combines strong hourly earnings with long-term retirement and healthcare value.


Current workload is creating substantial overtime opportunities, with many employees currently working approximately 58 hours per week.

What You’ll Do


● Install, assemble, and maintain commercial plumbing systems on new construction and renovation projects

● Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings

● Install piping systems, fixtures, valves, drainage systems, and related plumbing equipment

● Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades

● Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes

● Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues in the field

● Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project schedules and deadlines

● Support project completion across hospitals, universities, institutional facilities, and large commercial buildings


What You Bring


● Current Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent qualifying experience

● Commercial plumbing experience required

● Open to both union plumbers and non-union plumbers interested in joining Plumbers Local 98

● Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
