Job Summary:

Perform skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled plumbing repairs and installations. Plan, inspect,recordand oversee plumbing concerns.

Evaluate systems, research solutions and order repair parts and supplies. Serve as team leader and train others in proper work

methods and procedures.

Essential Functions:

50-80% Perform all essential functions of a Plumber.Perform skilled plumbing and repair of backflow preventers, water

mains, fire systems, acid waste lines, glass drain lines, sewage injector pumps, sump pumps, airlinesand gas lines.

0-10% Plan, inspect andmaintainbackflowpreventers throughoutcampus and plumbing systems.Check and inspect all dry

valves and fire systems.

0-10% Complete work orders and coordinate work with other trades, Universitydepartmentsand/or contractors when necessary.

0-10% Complete work,timeand material usage reports.Perform otherduties asassigned by Superintendent/Supervisor.

Education:

Requireshighschool diploma or GED.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Ohio Driver's License.Fire Suppression and Backflow Tester certifications preferred

Experience:

Requires completion of3Year UA or other State Approved Sponsored Apprenticeship Program for Trade or a minimum of8years of plumbing trade experienceAbility to operate and use standard powered and non-powered plumbing tools and equipment such as cutting, threading and bending machines, core hole machines, wrenches, hoisting machinery, saws, drills, main drain machines, grinders and testing gauges required. Ability to perform mathematics associated withtrade applications (fractions, ratios, percentages) required.Ability to read, write,observeand accurately follow oral,writtenand graphic instructions required.Requires the ability to exercise judgment indeterminingcorrectcourse of action when confronted with new situations.Prior experiencein leadingothers preferred.

Leadership:

Provide guidance to nonexempt staff including general scheduling, assigningtasksandmonitoringthe work of others, as assigned

by the Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 80 pounds withoutassistanceanddemonstratebending,crouchingand lifting.Must be able to climb a ladder,

scaffolding andworkon rooftops.

Working Conditions:

Routine exposure to heat, cold, moisture/wetness, inclement weather,noise airpollutionand heights.May involve exposure to

chemical substances,hazardsand moving parts. Work schedule is subject to changein accordance withUniversityneeds and/or

the results of the shift line-up process.Overtime/Call-ins may be mandatory based onUniversityneed.
