The Night Ministry is a Chicago based organization whose mission is to provide human connection, housing support, and health care to members of our community who are unhoused or experiencing poverty. We've successfully provided these lifesaving services for 45 plus years, everyday providing a lifeline to our most vulnerable neighbors. Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive development strategy to meet annual fundraising goals, collaborating with the Vice President of Advancement to reach approximately $2.5M in individual giving revenue.
  • Provide direction and oversight for private foundation grants generating around $3.3M in revenue annually.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with private foundations to foster funding partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with corporations to expand corporate giving.
  • Design and implement fundraising strategies for annual and major gifts, emphasizing growth in individual giving support and expanding donor bases.
  • Implement moves management processes to build relationships with key supporters and meet annual goals through stewardship and cultivation efforts.
  • Coordinate site visits and donor cultivation events with the Executive Team and Board of Directors to advance donor relationships.
  • Oversee major gift program processes.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Advancement to support the Board of Directors in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting leadership and major gift prospects.
  • Execute semi-annual appeal campaigns, track incoming gifts, and manage communications with donors, including mailings and impact reports.
  • Ensure fundraising alignment with agency needs, collaborating with the Finance Department on budgeting and income projections.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the donor database.
  • Participate in professional networking activities for growth and foster ongoing learning among direct reports and the Philanthropic Engagement team.
Qualifications:
  • The VP of Programs and Services must fully align with TNM's strategy and mission, showcasing leadership, coaching, and donor management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Five or more years experience in fund development and three or more years of general management experience.
  • Expertise in financial management and analysis, especially in non-profit settings.
  • Proactive leader adept at influencing and leading diverse teams and projects.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills with a focus on strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in setting priorities, shaping processes, and developing organizational infrastructure.
  • Proficient in project management, adept at meeting tight deadlines and goals.
  • Strategic thinker capable of managing multiple projects and emergent issues simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to set and exceed goals, demonstrating drive and motivation.

Compensation Range: $95,000-105,000

Physical Demands: The physical requirements outlined here reflect those necessary for the role's essential functions. This may include occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, and stooping. Frequent tasks may involve using hands, handling objects, tools, or controls. Regularly, the employee will talk or listen.

Benefits: Full-time staff are entitled to full benefits after 30 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.

Work Environment: The Night Ministry does offer flexible remote work on a case-by-case basis. Up to 1 to 2 days of remote work can be scheduled per with your direct supervisor. You would be expected to work general office hours between 9am to 5pm.
