Salary: $130 to $140k

Envision Healthcare at Home was established in 2005 by six healthcare professionals who wanted to make a difference in their community.

 

Envision is currently looking for an empathetic and service-oriented Registered Nurse for our Hospice Administrator opening at our Gig Harbor office.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Administrator will direct Envision's ongoing business functions. This person will ensure quality and safe delivery of hospice care services; coordinate services that reflect Envision's philosophy and standards of care; and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate Envision services, programs, and activities. Implements an effective budgeting and accounting system; assures accuracy for billing procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizes and directs Envision’s ongoing liaison among the Governing Body, Professional Advisory Committee, and staff.
  • Must ensure adequate staff education and evaluations.
  • Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
  • Shares copies of philosophy with all employees, and consistently follows Envision policies and procedures to set an example for employees.
  • Review Envision manuals at least once per year for completeness.
  • Assesses employees on an ongoing basis to ascertain their understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Assists employees in supporting policies and achieving necessary changes.
  • Uniformly enforces policies and procedures.
  • Maintains two-way communication with employees and fair administration of personnel policies, and will also establish and maintain effective channels of communication.
  • Works with the Director of Clinical Services and HR to document employee problems in personnel files, and to discipline employees as necessary.
  • Monitors budget hours and does not exceed allowance each year, and monitors equipment abuse and takes steps to keep it to a minimum.
  • Regularly evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of Envision.
  • Uses statistical data to determine the quality and quantity of services.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state, The Joint Commission, and local rules and regulations.
  • Supervises all business affairs and develops, implements, and evaluates financial policies and procedures and records as well as budget plans and cost control policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements salary programs within approved policies and procedures.
  • Participates in personal professional growth and development of self and other Staff.
  • Plans and directs operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
  • Works with HR, the Director of Clinical Services, and the Recruiter to recruit employees and retain qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Ensures Envision personnel have current clinical information and current practices.
  • Ensures staff development including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local trends and issues.
  • Ensures that appropriate service policies are developed and implemented.
  • Directs staff in the performance of their duties including admission, discharge, and provision of service to patients.
  • Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours.
  • Ensures the accuracy of public information materials and activities.
  • Appoint a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Administrator.
  • Must maintain RN license and CPR/BLS certifications for the State of Washington.
  • Must assist with making visits and being on call when needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a registered nurse, and have training and experience in health services administration and at least two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience working at a Hospice Company or Agency.
  • Must have five (5) years to seven (7) years of experience working for a Hospice company or agency.
  • Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle budgets, fiscal planning, and other business operations.
  • Ability to enlist the cooperation of many people in furthering a program.
