Summary of Job Purpose

The Theater Supervisor directly supervises the operations of the Pinecrest Theater. The position is responsible for ensuring a high-quality experience for our guests which is well-organized, efficient, and staffed with a well-trained and guest-friendly team. This position must maintain secure cash handling practices, and staff training guidelines and adhere to the department budget. This position is responsible for the administrative aspects of the Pinecrest Theater. This position is a KEY member of the Dodge Ridge Team.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • As directed, assist with the hiring, motivation, evaluation, and supervision of staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established departmental goals and objectives. Ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback, and resources necessary to achieve departmental success.
  • Assist the Base Area Director in ensuring the department operates in line with departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills in alignment with company culture with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal labor standards and regulations and the ability to manage departmental compliance.
  • Understanding of and compliance with corporate and resort-specific policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the procedures set forth by the movie studios.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive attitude within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains administrative processes as directed such as staffing, payroll, and inventories to ensure proper planning, efficient operation of the department and successful achievement of resort goals in compliance with resort safety policies.
  • Responsible for gathering and entering all ticket sales accurately. Works closely with the Base Area Director and accounting department to ensure accurate information for payment to the studios.
  • Understand and be able to train others on the operation of the POS, projector, and audio system.
  • Train Theater Associates on POS operation, rules, sales techniques/procedures, guest service techniques, and cash handling.
  • Maintain an inventory of the concessions and place and receive orders as needed.
  • Manage and ensure that banks are verified, and sales are recorded accurately. Monitor sales transactions to insure accuracy and accountability.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to understand and follow all procedures for balancing drawers, turn in’s, and all systems established for cash drawer accountability. Train, coach and supervise all staff in these procedures. Identify, correct, and report all overs and shorts.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to understand correct cash handling policies, procedures, and security and anticipate change.
  • Supervise staff to develop a highly organized guest experience and positively assist staff and guests with tickets and concessions.
  • Be able to manage the screen team and the raising and lowering of the screen.
  • Report numbers nightly to the appropriate locations.
  • Monitor and perform closing duties of the theater.
  • Identify needs and repairs at the theater.

Job Qualifications

  • Must have prior supervising experience.
  • Must be able to complete clerical and administrative duties.
  • Must have cash handling, POS, inventory maintenance and loss prevention experience.
  • Demonstrated facility in dealing with co-workers in a positive, cooperative, and team oriented manner; ability and willingness to interact with customers in the same manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills, possess ability to work in a fast paced, task-oriented environment and maximize use of time.
  • Proficiency using computers, including; Email, Internet, Microsoft Office, and some minor troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Heavy and awkward lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees. When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6).

Work schedules, staffing levels and weather conditions will dictate when lunches and breaks will be taken. You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

Working Conditions

At any time during the season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

To project a professional appearance at Dodge Ridge, your department requires a uniform be worn, including a nametag. Please wear both at all times during your scheduled shift.

We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. (We strongly encourage you to contact your supervisor for a description of the quality, color, and style of the items you are required to provide before you purchase them.)
