Route Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The Route Support Specialist (RSS) core responsibility is to professionally “fill in” for RSR’s on vacation,
RSR “call outs,” and open routes as well as support the team. The RSS is responsible for ensuring
timely and accurate delivery of medical linen and clothing and customer service to our customers;
addressing account issues concerns and complaints as presented by the customer during on-site visits
and ensuring customer satisfaction thru an efficient and professional processing of paperwork and
account data/information manner.
Essential Functions:
- Support the service management team by professionally filling in when RSR’s are out or when routes are open
- When not filling in, Ride with RSR’s on your assigned team to learn their customers
- Service assigned accounts by delivering clean removing soiled products and addressing customer service issues in an efficient professional and productive manner
- Enter all service-related data and signatures into assigned Route Assistant (PDA).
- Manage customer invoices and product inventories in an accurate manner.
- Efficient on-site account maintenance to ensure minimal lost business and service credits.
- Communicate daily with supervisor as needed to resolve customer concerns that arose from the day’s activity.
- Observe and practice corporate policies procedures and safety protocols relating to handling of product and driving.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum of 1 year in a RSR role.
- Skilled with Nixon’s inventory management practices and the Nixon Service Difference, NPS scores must be at or above company average.
- The ability to lift at least 75 pounds repetitively on a daily basis.
Physical Requirements:
Appearance: Associates will be required to wear clothing that is always in accordance with the
company’s dress code policy.
PPE: Protective equipment is not required to perform essential job functions.
While performing the duties of this position, associates will be required to sit for significant and/or
prolonged periods of time while at their workstation. Associate may be required to stand, walk,
and/or walk up and down stairs/steps frequently throughout the workday. Normal lifting of up to
10 pounds is required. When at their work area, Associate is in a temperature-controlled
environment with minimal possible exposure to extreme temperatures (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
Noise level is low or what could be expected in an office environment. Travel is not required.
Overtime may be required. Voluntary overtime requires prior supervisory approval.
Required Credentials:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required (4 year bachelor's degree is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, military or relevant work experience)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required at all times.
- In addition to these requirements, you will need to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and lifting assessment testing.
