Job Description Summary:

The Routing Supervisor is responsible for supporting the systems and process implementation of route planning, monitoring and execution. This is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient planning of delivery routes each day. This supervisor will work with the Delivery Router(s) drive continuous improvement in service levels, quality, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Trains and coaches site employees on use on effective use of the Transportation System to achieve business goals; transfers routing expertise to site employees. Continuously improve productivity by establishing goals for stops, containers, and miles per route day and route hours.
  • Manages and monitors route performance and works closely with transportation and warehouse teams to recommend and implement changes to continually improve productivity and routing efficiency.
  • Maintain RoadNet data; Review and utilize telmatic data for efficiency.
  • Oversee routing deliveries/pickups (returns) to maximize stops and cases.
  • Set holiday delivery schedule using alternate calendar.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse and routing
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone

Competencies:

  • May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
  • Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
