Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of roofing, siding, fascia, soffit, concrete, masonry, windows, and framing projects
Manage subcontractors and in-house crews, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
Complete daily log reports, conduct safety meetings, and upload photo documentation of work progress
Identify change orders, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure timely approval
Read blueprints and job specs, and expedite job progress and material procurement
Review project specifications, budgets, and materials to plan and execute projects effectively
Ensure site safety and efficiency, coordinating equipment, materials, and tools
Communicate project plans and scope of work clearly to teams
Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with standards and minimizing waste
Maintain professional communication with homeowners regarding project status and progress
Stay updated on manufacturer installation specifications and industry standards
Attend company meetings, training sessions, and team building events
Travel as needed, overseeing crews and maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

Proficiency in project management and exterior trades
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to read blueprints and interpret job specifications
Experience managing budgets and project timelines
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
Customer-focused with a commitment to quality workmanship
Willingness to travel and attend off-site meetings
Ability to negotiate change orders and maintain client relationships
Familiarity with coordinating multiple trades and stakeholders on projects

Experience

Experience in the roofing industry: A solid background in commercial roofing is essential. This includes knowledge of roofing materials, systems, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
Project management experience: Experience in managing construction or roofing projects is highly valuable. This includes overseeing project timelines, budgets, subcontractors, and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
Leadership and communication skills: Strong leadership abilities are necessary to effectively manage a team and ensure project success. Excellent communication skills are vital for coordinating with team members, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Problem-solving and decision-making: The ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during roofing projects is crucial. Project managers must be able to make informed decisions quickly to keep the project on track.

Education

Bachelor's degree: While not always mandatory, a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field can be advantageous. It provides a strong foundation in project management principles and construction techniques.
Certifications: Certain certifications specific to the roofing industry can enhance your qualifications. For example, the Roofing Contractor Qualification (RCQ) from the Roofing Contractors Association can demonstrate your expertise in commercial roofing.
