JOB/POSITION TITLE: Manager of Major Gifts and Corporate Sponsorship
STATUS: Exempt
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Manager of Major Gifts and Corporate Sponsorship works with the Director of Development to develop and implement a strategy targeting individuals capable of making significant annual contributions of $10,000 or more to support the mission.
The Manager of Major Gifts and Corporate Sponsorship is responsible for researching and identifying prospective donors as well as cultivation, solicitation, and creative stewardship of a portfolio of existing donors. Working with the Director of Development, Manager of Grants and Special Funds and the Special Events Manager, identify potential corporate sponsors, create fundraising proposals and execute a successful stewardship plan.
Reports to: Director of Development
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Working with the Director of Development, create a strategic plan to cultivate, secure, and steward major gifts (identified at $10,000+) from current portfolio of donors as well as researching and identifying new prospects to achieve department and organization goals;
- Cultivate mid-level donors with potential to increase giving;
- Working with the Manager of Special Events, create new and unique cultivation events to steward current prospects and cultivate new individuals interested in Hawaiian Humane Society;
- Schedule frequent face-to-face or meaningful / personal interactions with current and prospective donors;
- Write effective stewardship reports reflecting the impact of an individual gift;
- Working with the Director of Development, Manager of Grants and Special Funds and the Manager of Special Events, research and identify corporate sponsors for big picture ideology and underwriting to event sponsorships;
- Create effective proposals for corporate sponsorship selling the mission and support needed for the Hawaiian Humane Society;
- Create and execute unique naming opportunities and recognition for major giving donors;
- Create timely reports.
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB CONDITIONS:
- Work Environment: Indoors in air-conditioned office. Outdoors for donor tours, meetings and special events.
- Equipment Use: PC/Mac proficiency, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and standard office equipment use.
- Hours: Regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday typical schedule, with other hours and days based on donor meetings, operational requirements, and special event needs.

- Must be able to meet with donors in person at indoor and outdoor
- Must be able to travel to different locations.
- Must have a valid Hawaii Drivers License
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Skills/Knowledge: Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent presentation verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to engage, motivate and inspire others to action. Strong work ethic. High level of organization, attention to detail and ability to be self-motivated. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of fundraising database software.
- Education/Training: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in fundraising; minimum 2 years with proven record of major gift fundraising securing gifts of at least $10,000.
