As a Permit Specialist, you will work remotely to assist carriers in securing necessary permits for oversize and overweight loads. - Responsibilities:
- Carrier Interaction:
- Communicate with carriers to collect essential truck information required for permit applications.
- Maintain accurate records of carrier details, including vehicle specifications, load dimensions, and contact information.
- Permit Processing:
- Review permit requests submitted by carriers.
- Input permit applications into state-specific Department of Transportation (DOT) websites.
- Ensure timely submission of permit applications to meet travel schedules.
- Monitor permit status and follow up as needed.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Stay informed about state-specific regulations related to oversize and overweight permits.
- Verify that permit applications adhere to legal requirements.
- Provide carriers with necessary permits and route maps upon approval.
- Maintain organized records of permits issued and expiration dates.
- Customer Service:
- Assist carriers with any permit-related inquiries or issues.
- Collaborate with carriers to address challenges during the permitting process.
- Remote Work:
- Work independently from a remote location.
- Meet deadlines and maintain efficient communication.
