As part of our managed growth, we have a current need to recruit a Project Accountant.


Position Summary:

Primary financial advisor and assistant to the Project Team, on assigned projects. Perform various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely completion of work within one or more sections, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost, payroll and general accounting duties and filing.

  • Make practical applications of accounting standards (as related to assigned projects).
  • Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of one or more sections, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost, general accounting or a subordinate section.
  • Process and place in line for payment vendor or contractor invoices; perform client invoice preparation, equipment rental accounting, and appropriate back charges, etc.
  • Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other sections, departments, vendors, contractors and clients.
  • Makes recommendations to supervisor and project team for cost effective methods of accomplishing specific functions.
  • Assists the project team in monitoring the financial condition of projects and protecting profit.
  • Inputs all job information and job cost into Sage Timberline accounting software.
  • Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Requirements:

Education:

Associates degree plus two years construction accounting experience or equivalent combinations of training and experience.


Experience:

Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing, payroll and invoicing required. Good written and verbal communication skills essential. Proficient with current computer software with strong (intermediate) Excel. Experience with Sage Timberline 300 CRE and/or Procore software is desirable. Should have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
