The Quality Assurance Director is responsible for directing the quality assurance program for injection/extrusion molding operations, supervising quality control technicians and molding operators, implementing, and maintaining the plant's quality management system, leading problem resolution, and assisting in troubleshooting technical issues. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
- Four (4) years of related experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing organization is required.
- Proficiency in personnel computer skills (spreadsheet and word processing software) is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain a quality program compliant with ISO 9001 requirements, including document control, inspection procedures, and corrective actions.
- Establish and monitor statistical process control programs, analyze process capability statistics, and recommend continuous improvement programs.
- Establish and monitor hold for inspection procedures to ensure nonconforming materials are properly identified and segregated.
- Supervise personnel responsible for quality control, including inspection of materials, performance of tests, and processing of scrap materials.
- Identify chronic defects, recommend corrective actions, and stimulate continuous improvement and employee involvement programs.
- Provide ongoing analysis of defect costs and customer complaints to inform plant and division quality managers of appropriate actions.
- Serve as the representative for the plant in dealing with customer complaints and quality problems, travel to customer locations as required, and coordinate corrective action plans.
- Design, implement, and coordinate training programs for managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure uniform quality standards and expectations are communicated.
