We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse Process Engineer with expertise in Six Sigma principles and methods to optimize our warehouse operations. As a Warehouse Process Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity in our warehouse facilities. Your primary goal will be to streamline processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure the smooth flow of goods through the entire warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Analysis and Optimization: Conduct a thorough assessment of our warehouse processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and gather insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all warehouse processes adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Identify potential safety hazards and work with the safety team to implement preventive measures.
  • Six Sigma: Apply Six Sigma principles and tools, such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), to identify root causes of inefficiencies, defects, and errors. Lead projects aimed at process improvement and waste reduction.
  • Process Design and Standardization: Develop and implement standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across all warehouse functions. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse team. Regularly monitor performance metrics and KPIs to track progress and identify further improvement opportunities.
  • Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT and operations teams to identify opportunities for integrating automation and technology solutions into warehouse processes. Assess and implement warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant tools to enhance process efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory control teams to optimize stock levels, reduce carrying costs, and enhance inventory accuracy. Implement inventory management strategies that ensure timely replenishment and minimize stockouts.
  • Layout and Material Flow: Optimize the warehouse layout and material flow to reduce handling time and improve the overall efficiency of the facility. Implement lean principles and value stream mapping to enhance material flow.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analysis tools to present performance reports and project outcomes to management. Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and drive positive changes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including warehouse staff, management, and executives, to provide updates on process improvement projects and seek input for future initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt, or higher) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment, and inventory management principles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of successfully leading process improvement projects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Information:
  • Pay is $80k - $85k, DOE
  • Full-time, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, onsite in American Fork, UT
