Location: Kirksville, MO

Job Title: Process Developer

Duration: 15 + Months (Could go beyond)

Scope: Hands-on / In-plant resource to help in the commissioning and qualification of new processing lines and equipment in a meat manufacturing facility that produces consumer packaged goods

Abilities

o Quickly learn and understand key parameters of unit processes within the production line

o Experiment with and translate how adjustments to processing parameters affect finished product quality attributes

o Provide direction and instructions to line technicians in order to complete key aspects of technical testing plans (data collection, control schemes, etc)

o Analyze and interpret data in real-time to guide process adjustments

o Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues on the plant floor

o Effectively communicate learnings, challenges, and risks to multi-disciplinary team

o Incorporate feedback/input from all levels (plant floor, engineers, managers) to come to optimal processing parameters

o Quickly learn and understand general parameters of processes within the production line

o Complete key aspects of technical testing plans (data collection, control schemes, etc)

o Work under the direction of R&D Process Leads and Unit operation technical experts

o Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues on the plant floor

o Effectively communicate learnings, challenges, and risks to multi-disciplinary team

o Incorporate feedback/input from all levels (plant floor, engineers, managers)

Qualifications

Requirements:

BS degree in Engineering

5+ years engineering experience

o 4-year degree in engineering, food science, or related field preferred

o Ability to travel 80% to Midwest locations


Preferences:

o Experience with CPG companies, meat processing, and in-plant commercialization

o Plant floor experience highly preferred

o Must have advanced Excel skills - analyzing, graphing charts, v-look ups.

o This position will accommodate 24 hour coverage, candidates will split time or rotate 1st 8AM-8PM and or 2nd shift 8PM -8AM

Demonstrated ability and potential to progress to a leadership position within the organization

commissioning of new product lines and relocating existing product lines.

Must have experience working in a plant environment (CPG and plant floor experience strongly preferred)
