This role ensures that products consistently meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and compliance obligations, including CE Marking, NRTL certifications, RoHS/REACH, and other market-access directives. The Quality Process Engineer acts as a cross-functional liaison between Engineering, Production, Sales, and external customer quality and engineering teams, while championing a culture of continuous improvement and zero-defect manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Drive product and process quality throughout the full manufacturing lifecycle, from new product introduction to ongoing production and field performance.
  • Ensure all products comply with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements such as CE Marking, NRTL certifications, RoHS/REACH, and other market-access directives.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Sales teams to align quality objectives with design, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as a primary quality and process engineering contact for external customer quality and engineering teams, addressing quality concerns and supporting customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment to enhance product quality, process capability, and overall efficiency.

  • Create, manage, and maintain quality documentation, including CAPAs, PPAPs, FAIs, NCRs, and other process quality records.
  • Investigate non-conformances and quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support and promote continuous improvement methodologies, including lean manufacturing and lean six sigma practices, to reduce defects and waste.
  • Use tools such as Excel and other documentation systems to chart, track, and report process and quality metrics.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to secure materials and components that meet quality requirements and to address supplier-related non-conformances.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead cross-functional reviews of new product introductions to ensure quality and manufacturability requirements are integrated into designs and processes.
  • Support the development and execution of inspection and test plans, including first article inspections (FAI) and production part approval processes (PPAP/APQP).
  • Champion a zero-defect mindset within the organization by promoting best practices, training, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead continuous improvement projects focused on process quality, yield improvement, and defect reduction.
Essential Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing quality records and documentation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a small, close-knit organization and adapt to a broad range of responsibilities.
Work Environment

The role is based in a small, close-knit organization of approximately 100 employees, offering the opportunity to learn and grow while gaining exposure to many aspects of electronic manufacturing.
