Intermediate Accoutant

United Talent Staffing is seeking a dynamic Intermediate Accountant with strong analytical abilities and a commitment to detail to join the Hope Gas team in hybrid/Morgantown, WV.

This position is responsible for providing support within the accounting organization. Duties include closing activities, providing monthly variance analysis and reporting, as well as assisting with annual report preparation. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information in accordance with company practices, FERC, PSC and GAAP regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Preparing, review, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Assist in documenting accounting procedures and controls
• Conduct moderately complex assignments involving accounting projects and the day to day maintenance of a general ledger
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and communicate them to management
• Perform appropriate accounting controls
• Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities
• Routinely interact with internal and external customers
• Perform various work assignments under limited supervision

Main Qualifications

• 2-4 years of general accounting experience or 1 year of experience working in public accounting
• Working knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
• Strong computer skills including Excel & PowerPoint
• Knowledge of internal controls documentation
• Understanding of accounting information systems
• Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good analytical skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
