JOB SUMMARY

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Position Summary: Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director, this position is responsible for planning, directing, delegating, coordinating, communicating high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
  • Graduate from an accredited associate degree of nursing program (ADN)

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor degree preferred (BSN)

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum one year recent clinical experience in Labor and Delivery. (Not applicable to New Grad RN’s)
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and protocols
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • Acute Care setting preferred
  • Computer Skills
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation

1 year or more of experience RN:

  • Current and Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Basic EKG
  • NRP – Advanced Course (American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association)
  • Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) or C-EFM
  • Advanced FHM (AWHONN)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) required (within 30 days of hire)
  • Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of hire)

New Grad RN:

  • California RN License
  • American Heart Association BLS Card
  • American Heart Association ACLS Card
  • Basic EKG
  • NRP – Advanced course (American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association) to be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or their partners) to be obtained within 30 days of hire • Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) to be obtained within 12 months of hire • Advanced FHM (AWHONN) to be obtained within 1 year and 5 months of hire • Assault Response Competency (ARC) required (within 30 days of hire) • Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment)
