Full job description

Become part of the McCarthy Tire Service manufacturing team and play an important role in the transportation and tire industry! Our retread technicians are responsible for products that move our country.

We are hiring Tire Remanufacturing (Retread) Technicians. We offer paid training and a bonus program.

A Retread Technician performs functions from inspecting, preparing, and finishing in the remanufacturing of commercial tires in a variety of applications, from package delivery to food service distribution. These technicians are accountable for properly and safely performing a wide variety of services needed for all vehicle/commercial tires.

Requirements:

A Retread Technician must have the desire to perform above and beyond the requirements set forth in this job description. Adheres to the McCarthy Tire Service policies and standards.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing a plus, but we train.
  • Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
  • Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Must be goal oriented and able to consistently meet quality and production requirements.
  • Must possess a mechanical aptitude and energy.
  • Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Inspecting and buffing worn tires for remanufacturing.
  • Applying a variety of tread designs to tires prepared for remanufacturing.
  • Finishing of completed product, including the handling and final steps in the remanufacturing process.
  • Quality control of finished product.
  • Tracking and monitoring data associated with the processing of tires throughout the retread process.
  • Observing and complying with all safety and liability guidelines and policies.
  • Using protective safety equipment to ensure safe operation of machines.
  • Any other duties requested by management.

Safety Requirements:

  • Perform all safety related items as per the Employee Safety Manual
  • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses while doing any work
  • Learn and maintain all lifting procedures
  • Learn and maintain all general housekeeping and ensure daily performance
  • Must pass the Drug Test and physical.

Weight Requirements:

  • Lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
  • Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry

Work Environment:

Work environment is typically not climate controlled.
