POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Director of Commercial Analytics will be responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining a variety of systems and business processes, along with vendor management, for a broad array of business operations and commercially related functions/projects. In addition, this person will also have responsibility for leading all efforts pertaining to field incentive planning, customer targeting and territory alignment management as well as preparing, analyzing, and presenting data required for marketed products to support regular business updates, strategic initiatives and planning efforts. This is a role that requires a high-level of proactive partnership across multiple levels within the organization. This role reports to the Vice President of Business Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead evolution and maintenance of Rigel dashboard reporting solution to meet the needs of the commercial team. Duties include management of data aggregation vendor, working cross functionally with Sales, Market Access and Marketing to recommend, evaluate and implement all reporting enhancements, ongoing data stewardship of dashboard reports across platforms, user training and working closely with Market Access to communicate data specification changes to be implemented with channel partners.
  • Assume a leadership role in all monthly and quarterly business reviews collaborating cross-functionally to create and present cohesive commercial updates to various levels of the organization. This includes continuous and proactive monitoring of business trends providing data in multiple formats to functional partners as needed.
  • Overall management of field incentive compensation program management including quarterly and annual plan design recommendations, monthly calculations, contests, plan modeling and performance analysis, development and implementation of processes, and communication with the sales force.
  • Overall management of field territory alignment including effective partnering with Sales leadership on sizing analysis and recommendations to refine and implement geography changes as needed.
  • Management of data acquisition strategy including recommending, contracting and analysis of third-party market data to support internal key metrics and field targeting updates.
  • Effectively partner cross-functionally (Marketing, Sales and Market Access) to understand strategic initiatives, and design analysis to support evaluation and execution of plans
  • General commercially related project management, and other related duties as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ combined commercial, operations, analytical or other related experience in areas such as finance, project management, computer/software/analytics systems, etc.
  • Experience within pharma/biotech strongly desired, especially within smaller, early-stage companies with commercial staffing.
  • Ability to synthesize disparate data into a cohesive story to accurately support regular business reviews
  • Significant experience with system implementations, excel based modeling and analytical techniques
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and within short timelines, in an environment of frequently changing priorities, and often with limited direction and supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and to work well with others across multiple functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk; sit; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position may require occasional/limited travel for business meetings, conferences, and vendor meetings (approx. 5-10%)
