Shamrock Roofing is an established roofing and construction company servicing the metro-Kansas City area since 1977. In the last few years, our business has exploded in the Midwest and now servicing areas in Arkansas, Texas, Des Moines, Lincoln, Omaha, and St. Louis.


We currently have a Fleet Manager position open. This person is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of a company's fleet of vehicles. This role typically involves a combination of administrative duties, logistical planning, and fleet maintenance management. Here's a detailed job description for a fleet manager:

JOB SUMMARY:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with regulations, and cost-effective maintenance. This role involves strategic planning, overseeing daily operations, coordinating with various departments, and implementing policies to optimize fleet performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fleet Operations Management:
   - Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the smooth functioning of the fleet.
   - Oversee vehicle scheduling and routing
   - Monitor vehicle utilization and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.

Fleet Maintenance:
   - Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and prolong vehicle lifespan.
   - Coordinate with maintenance staff and external service providers to ensure timely repairs and inspections.
   - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and expenses.

Compliance and Safety:
   - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing fleet operations, including licensing, registration, and safety standards.
   - Implement safety protocols and training programs for drivers to minimize accidents and injuries.
   - Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to fleet management and transportation.

Cost Management:
   - Develop and manage the fleet budget, including expenses related to fuel, maintenance, repairs, and procurement.
   - Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize fleet expenditure.
   - Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure favorable terms and pricing.

Fleet Performance Analysis:
   - Analyze data and generate reports on fleet performance, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and other key metrics.
   - Use analytical insights to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in fleet operations.
   - Implement strategies to enhance fleet productivity, fuel efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Supplier and Vendor Management:
   - Establish and maintain relationships with vehicle suppliers, leasing companies, and other vendors.
   - Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
   - Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Experienced in administration, logistics, transportation management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in fleet management or a related role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). - AirIQ 
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required).
