Job description

Residential Roofing Mechanic | A-1 Roofing $35-$50/hr | $500 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Mechanics
Enjoy spending time with your friends and family? So do we. At A-1 Roofing, we believe great work starts with great people - and great people deserve a life outside of work.
We're a large, growing roofing company with 40 years in the industry, headquartered in Medford, NY. We're looking for experienced residential shingle roofing mechanics who take pride in their craft and want to grow with a company that values safety above all else.
This is not an entry-level position. We expect candidates to come with hands-on experience and a solid foundation - we'll invest in taking your skills even further.
What You'll Do
You'll work as part of a skilled crew on residential shingle roofing projects in the Melville, NY area - tear-offs, installations, and repairs. You'll be expected to show up on time, follow and enforce all safety protocols, mentor less-experienced crew members, and deliver quality results that keep our customers coming back.
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of hands-on residential shingle roofing experience required
  • Strong knowledge of roofing safety practices, PPE, and fall protection
  • Ability to read and follow work-related documents and instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work Monday-Saturday
  • A team player who takes quality and safety seriously
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work - heavy lifting, extended time on rooftops, and outdoor conditions year-round

Our Commitment to Safety
At A-1 Roofing, safety isn't a checkbox - it's a core value. We maintain strict OSHA compliance on every job site, provide proper safety equipment, and empower every crew member to speak up and refuse any task they believe is unsafe. You'll work in an environment where doing things the right way is always more important than doing things fast.
What We Offer
  • $35-$50/hr based on experience
  • $500 sign-on bonus
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with monthly employer contribution
  • Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
  • Referral bonus program
  • Professional development and ongoing training opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Team events and annual holiday party
  • Full-time, year-round work with room to grow

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | Hours vary (6:30 AM-6:30 PM) Primary Location: Melville, NY | Office: Medford, NY
HABLAMOS ESPAÑOL!!
