Roofer Foreman - Production Area
Location: Shelbyville, KY (Louisville Market)
Division: Commercial Roofing - Production
Reports To: Superintendent / Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt)
About the Role
Holland Roofing Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman - Production Area to lead field crews supporting our Louisville, KY market. This is a hands-on production leadership role for a proven commercial roofer who can immediately supervise crews, manage jobsite execution, and uphold strict safety and quality standards.
This position is ideal for a Foreman who wants to strengthen leadership responsibilities over time, expand operational decision-making, and grow into broader field leadership as the business evolves.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Jobsite Leadership
  • Lead daily commercial roofing production activities from job setup through completion.
  • Supervise roofing crews to ensure projects are completed safely, watertight, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Verify installation of EPDM, TPO, PVC, and sheet metal systems per specifications.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Submit daily production reports, safety documentation, and timecards.

Crew Supervision & Development
  • Direct, train, and mentor roofers and laborers on proper installation methods and safety practices.
  • Assign tasks clearly and monitor crew performance and workmanship.
  • Communicate daily production goals, safety expectations, and job priorities.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professionalism on every jobsite.

Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce OSHA regulations, fall protection requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily hazard inspections and weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, safety lines, guardrails, and warning systems.
  • Remove unsafe tools or equipment from service immediately.

Coordination & Communication
  • Maintain clear communication with the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding progress, labor needs, materials, and safety concerns.
  • Serve as the on-site representative with customers, general contractors, and inspectors.
  • Address field issues professionally and escalate concerns appropriately.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial roofing experience, including supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong hands-on experience with EPDM, TPO, PVC, and sheet metal systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, fall protection, and jobsite safety practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and material specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic mobile and computer reporting skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools and safety gear.

Certifications (Required or Obtainable Within 6 Months)
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • CPR & First Aid
  • Fall Protection

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Lift and carry 30-50 lbs regularly.
  • Work at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Overtime, travel, and weekend work as required.
