ICAN is a non-profit organization that provides free, out-of-school time programs serving East Valley youth. Since its founding in 1991, ICAN has remained dedicated to its mission to provide free, comprehensive programs that empower youth to be productive, self-confident, and responsible members of the community. ICAN’s goal is to break the cycle of poverty, creating a new pathway for youth to achieve future success. We do this by providing safe, enriching programs for our children and their families, teaching youth the life skills they need now to lay the foundation for a brighter future via programs enriched with STEAM, literacy, sports and more.

The Role

As the Part time Bookkeeper, you will run accurate bookkeeping and monitoring of daily financial transactions. The bookkeeper also serves as the point person for financial records retention. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will do this by:

Finance (100%). Ensure bills, purchases, reimbursements, and payroll are entered into the financial accounting software. Accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions. Check accounting records for accuracy, tracking invoices and payments. Records all payments and revenues received. Calculates and enters journal entries for in-kind gifts, and other adjustments every month. Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions and file financial documents as required. Create and submit IRS 1099 annually.
