Position Summary:

The Global Director of Quality is the key stakeholder representing the customer and supplier relations related to quality and service. Manages and directly supervises Quality Engineers and Quality Supervisors with a total of up to 25 non-supervisory employees in the Quality Engineering and Reject Repair departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organizational chart, company policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Position Responsibilities :
  • Designs and implements closed loop, integrated, warranty analysis system utilizing current levels of technology that provides quick and efficient access to warranty data by all.
  • Provides the leadership for the analysis team to achieve a high rate of root cause identification in warranty products to reduce the warranty expense and quantity of "no trouble found” results.
  • Review analysis results with customer counterparts to ensure that the root cause ownership is appropriately defined.
  • Utilizing data obtained from the analysis process drives improvement actions through the appropriate product team.
  • Develops close working relationships with key customer counterparts.
  • Responsible for the development and adherence to the policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality, MMOG, and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Committed to a safe and accident-free work environment.
  • Product/Model PCP (Process Control Plan) development and maintenance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Preventative & Corrective action plans based on internal and external quality results. (Yield, Warranty, and or customer PPM) failure analysis on customer returns to ensure quick turnaround time and responsiveness.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams (Process/Product Improvement teams) teams for effective "root cause” analysis, and corrective and preventative action. This position will include the training of other groups on a routine basis.
  • Coordination of customer visits.
  • QA portion of APQP (PPAP) on product launches.
  • Resolving critical issues/situations ensuring that they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines.
  • Quality representative in Lean activities.
Position Qualifications :
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, technology, or physical science discipline
  • 5-10 years experience in Tier 1 & Tier 2 Automotive, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Customer/Supplier relationships.
  • 3+ years of experience with assembly of complex mechanical assemblies is required.
  • 3+ years of Lean manufacturing operational theory, principles, and tools are required.
  • 3+ years of experience prioritizing and assigning tasks, and accurately estimating the time and costs required for project completion.
  • Experience in creating, developing, adapting, and communicating tool design concepts based on input from internal and external customers using advanced design tools (ACAD) and techniques a plus.

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days , depending on customer payment terms.
