Pavement Marking/Road Striping Division Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
The Division Manager is responsible for all phases of construction projects including staffing requirements, equipment purchases, direction of supervisory personnel, resolution of grievances within workforce, adherence to state specification, and prime contractor construction schedules. The individual works directly with upper management (regional manager) updating job progress, monthly/quarterly/yearly financials, issues with staff/field personnel, union negotiations, relationships with suppliers, and division needs to promote safety/quality/production.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manage and direct daily activities of division staff in line with established policies, practices and procedures
- Assist directly in establishing long/short-term planning of objectives for division
- Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Provide division with appropriate staff, resources, and direction required to fulfill jobs, estimating, and operational goals
- Oversee performance of design and construction phase of contract commitments to ensure profitability and timely execution of work]
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
EDUCATION:
- Vocational or apprenticeship training supplemented with 10+ years of construction leadership experience, or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Construction Management or combination of experience and education
EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years’ experience in road construction industry strongly preferred
- Previous experience with Striping a major plus
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proven previous experience as construction project manager or similar leadership position
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures
- Familiarity of pavement marking material preferred but not required
- Well-versed in project management principles
- Effective oral/written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective decision-making ability
- Familiarity with OSHA standards
- Proficient in MS Office
