In this active, hands-on role, you will learn to apply and remove pavement markings for roadways, parking lots, and airports using advanced materials like epoxy, thermoplastic, and waterborne paint.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Pavement Striping Technician, you will be a vital part of keeping our roadways safe and operational:

  • Installation & Removal: Layout and install pavement markings using engineered plans, digital tools (like Google Earth), and advanced equipment.

  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate specialized machinery, including thermoplastic trucks, water-blasting trucks, epoxy trucks, and grinding/grooving trucks.

  • Traffic Control & Safety: Perform critical traffic control duties, including flagging and mobile lane closures, ensuring all work strictly complies with DOT standards.

  • Logistics & Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections, perform standard maintenance, and load/unload materials for transport.

  • Travel: Travel to various project sites, with occasional overnight stays required.


What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Union Requirement: You must join Laborers Local Union #Joveo and comply with all union terms.

  • Experience: Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, or related fields is highly preferred.

  • Licensure: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (A CDL is preferred, but we provide CDL training if you don't have one!)

  • Physical Toughness: The ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Certifications: Flagging Certification or Traffic Control Technician Certification (or a willingness to obtain them with our help).

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Mindset: Dependable, punctual, safety-focused, and flexible to work variable shifts (including nights and weekends).
