Do you enjoy physical, outdoor work where no two job sites are the same, you stay busy all day, and overtime is a regular part of the job?

Why you'll love working with us:

  • Variety of Job Sites: Work at different residential and commercial locations, keeping the work from feeling repetitive or stale.
  • Active, Outdoor Role: Stay moving and work with your hands instead of being stuck inside or behind a desk.
  • Independent, Hands-on Work: Spend your days working outdoors with clear expectations and the freedom to focus on completing the job.
  • Overtime Opportunities: Take advantage of overtime during busy periods while working on essential asphalt maintenance projects.
  • Supportive, Family-run Company: Work for a family-owned business with approachable leadership that values reliability, respect, and a job done right.

Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc. is a family-owned and operated asphalt maintenance contractor that has served Central Pennsylvania since 1974. Known for its transparency, honesty, and responsiveness, the company offers one-stop maintenance services for commercial, residential, and property management clients, while remaining committed to supporting its employees and giving back to the local community.

What you'll do as a Seasonal General Laborer:

  • Work on asphalt maintenance projects, including crack repair, sealcoating, and line striping at residential and commercial job sites.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely while keeping job sites clean, organized, and ready for the next step.
  • Handle materials, prep work areas, and assist with cleanup to keep projects moving on schedule.
  • Follow safety standards, company procedures, and crew direction while working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Show up on time, work hard, and take on physically demanding tasks as part of a team-focused crew.
  • Travel locally to job sites within about a two-hour radius.

Our Ideal Seasonal General Laborer:

  • Experienced or Entry-level: No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or demonstrated ability to perform the work.
  • Willing to Learn: Open to training and learning new skills related to asphalt maintenance, equipment use, and job site work.
  • Dependable & Punctual: Shows up on time, follows through on commitments, and can be counted on day to day.
  • Hardworking & Team-oriented: Brings a strong work ethic, works well with others, and contributes positively to the crew.
  • Detailed & Adaptable: Pays attention to details, follows instructions, and adjusts to changing job conditions or schedules.
  • Physically Capable: Able to lift up to 55 pounds unassisted and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, squatting, and carrying buckets for extended periods of time.

What we offer our Seasonal General Laborer:

  • $18-$22/hour, DOE
  • $1,500 sign-on bonus
  • Full-time seasonal role, April-November
  • Willingness to work Monday-Saturday and some Sundays, beyond 40 hours per week as needed
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off & paid holidays
  • Simple IRA with 2% employer contribution at year's end
  • Year-end merit bonus
  • Company apparel
  • Annual family picnic each October
  • Monthly employee appreciation days with meals and small bonuses (May-November)
  • Work that contributes to asphalt maintenance projects and community-serving spaces
  • A family-owned company with supportive leadership and a culture that respects your time
