Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team at Selkirk Sport. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to support the company's growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of key accounting functions, including month-end close calculations and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and/or review month-end reconciliations, expense accruals, and other accounts as part of our close process.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and CFO to draft and propose accounting policies and procedures aimed at scaling the department and company.
  • Some cost accounting and analysis with inventory.
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments to execute company-wide initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in the administration of our financial operations software, ensuring its optimal functionality and utilization.
  • Provide support in ad hoc analysis or projects as needed, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team and across departments.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Active CPA certification is required.
  • Proven experience of 5+ years preferably in a high growth and/or manufacturing environment.
  • A focus on month-end close processes, reconciliations, and expense management.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with experience in administration preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech savvy with tools and systems such as MS Business Central, MS Power BI, Brex, Monday.com, etc.
  • Thrive in an agile, less structured environment and is able to work well with multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple conflicting priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Google Tools skills.
