Job Description
Job Summary:
The Digital Design and Technology Manager is responsible for working with firm principles, key project designers, and project teams in leading the integration of digital technology to ensure the continuing growth and success of the firm’s digital practice strategies. This role focuses on promoting and supporting BIM/Revit technology workflow related to: BIM project execution & planning, design evolution, recommend digital platforms resources, operational policies, building performance analysis, computational design, documentation, project delivery approaches, and design experience & visualization. The Digital Design and Technology Manager will use their technical expertise and communication skills to drive the process of innovation, uptake of emerging BIM technologies implementation and to establish proper procedures & standards in partnership with office leadership and design technology community.

Main Duties:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Work with principals and key leaders to achieve the visions and strategy of the firm, to implement technology in support of project efficiency and design innovation.
  • Coordinate with Revit/BIM users the specific responsibilities including: BIM models management, parametric modelling, BIM guidelines, periodic review of project models, BIM kickoff meeting, Revit project setup and (VR/AR) design experience environments.
  • Evaluate, develop, and ensure the consistent maintenance of 2D/3D BIM content library as well as project template standards across projects/offices including the implementation of digital design technologies.
  • Develop an organizational system for new and existing Revit library content in consultation with  firm leadership and end users.
  • Responsible for the firm’s overall BIM Execution Plan in order to comply with AEC/Client standards while driving the use of BIM model-based technologies and help project teams interpreting and integrating BIM standards.
  • Ability to work with project design teams during the design process to implement challenging design concepts and realization by utilizing Revit/BIM modelling and execution strategy.
  • Effectively organize in-house BIM/Revit coordination meetings with project teams and discipline leaders across offices for consistent BIM execution on projects.
  • Assisted in modelling of Revit parametric families, develop components, digital file transfers,
  • Provide BIM Fundamental & Intermediate training and continuing education to staff.
  • Recommend operational policies, trends and programs relating to BIM that would guide the firm in maintaining and improving a competitive advantage.
  • Manage the implementation of supporting BIM software, custom toolbars, macros and Dynamo routines for BIM.
  • Actively engage to represent the firm through presentations in industry events, publishing internally/externally about BIM project innovations, and passion to nurture research & development initiatives.
  • Lead the BIM/Technology Committee user groups and working with project teams to explore new software and methods.
  • Coordinate with IT to manage technology operations including the firm’s annual technology budget planning, software upgrade scheduling and software license management.
  • Assist project teams decisions when exploring basic digital fabrication into a realized 2D/3D physical mock-ups experience.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • 8 to 15 years of digital design experience working in an medium-large architectural project, preferably in commercial office and/or multi-family residential design.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Excellent experience in Revit, Dynamo, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, BIM360 setup and management.
  • Familiarity with AR/VR, Rhino, and computational design scripting (Python, C#, and .NET).
  • Proven track record of leadership ability, organization and communication skills.
  • Exhibits design and technological sophistication, and is self-starting, energetic, and creative
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Current eligibility and valid work permit to work in the USA.
