Electrical Engineer

This position will require a candidate to fulfill the needs associated with the technical assistance, will require the candidate to understand the regulatory requirements for electrification projects, have an understanding of electrical engineering and electrification project management.
1. Provide technical assistance to the tribal project manager, performance monitoring,
documentation, and progress assessment for each electrification project they are overseeing.
Work alongside the BIA Team lead and provide guidance through Inflation
Reduction Act (IRA) legislation and have an understanding of required electrification
upgrades to meet the needs to work towards zero-emission energy usage.
2. Serve as first point of contact within the awarding document and assist in verifying the
use of awarded project funds. As well as potentially navigate working relationships
between the tribe and utility providers.
3. Report at a minimum quarterly on progress, on all project activities to include staying
within the electrification-zero emission mandates.
4. Engage with stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being
addressed where possible at the Federal level.
5. Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers and
contribute technical review of external communications.
6. Successfully produce for OIED leadership the program status to senior government
officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.
7. Develop and provide Sustainability training for all current grantees and interested tribes,
tribal organizations.
8. Maintain regular communication with OIED through bi-weekly/monthly meetings to
coordinate efforts.

- Knowledge of and familiarity with the Alaskan Native communities in which we are trying to bring power to.
