Job Description

PURPOSE

Responsible for timely and accurate setup, processing, and disclosing of all residential mortgage applications to ensure that loan approvals are obtained on time. Responsible for assisting Mortgage Originators with guiding the borrower through the mortgage financing process via ongoing communication with the borrower. Responsible for monitoring mortgage and home equity loan applications from application to closing to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Responsible for the submission of clear and accurate loan documentation, presenting organized and complete files to the underwriting and closing teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process residential mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit (Keylines) in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Review and validate loans for completeness and accuracy and ensure any deficiencies are appropriately addressed and resolved before submission for underwriting.
  • Communicate with the customer on an ongoing basis to ensure they remain informed and aware throughout the process.
  • Communicate with Mortgage Originators, borrowers, attorneys, and realtors as appropriate, on an ongoing basis, to ensure a timely and efficient process, creating an exceptional customer experience.
  • Prepare 3-day disclosures following TRID.
  • Analyze the credit history of applicants and determine loan repayment capabilities.
  • Order all documentation required to process new loans, including but not limited to, the flood certification, SSA verifications, tax transcripts, appraisals, and employment verification.
  • Track the status of all appraisals.
  • Order title work for new loan files and track status.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of consumer lending regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • After successful registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and issuance of a valid NMLS ID, maintain active registration status with proper annual renewal, in compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with the “Encompass” loan origination system is required
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure that documentation produced is accurate and meets all organizational guidelines and policies.
  • Exhibits exceptional problem-solving skills; identifies and resolves problems on time and gathers/analyzes information skillfully.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills; able to handle/prioritize multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Constantly strives to maintain product knowledge through continued education and research.
