Description

An exciting opportunity has opened with a well-established company. Tencarva Machinery Company has continuously grown for the last 45 years with over 30 locations, mainly in the southeast US, and headquartered in Greensboro, NC. We are seeking a skilled and motivated part-time event planner to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of events for our organization.

Summary: Assist in the planning, coordinating, and execution of events, such as conferences, seminars, networking events, and social events for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in planning and executing events, including but not limited to conferences, seminars, networking events, and social events.
  • Customer seminars are once a month with in-person requirements to facilitate this event.
  • Coordinate with vendors, including caterers, photographers, and entertainment providers, to ensure that events run smoothly.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage budgets to ensure events are executed within financial constraints.
  • Create event timelines and agendas, manage event logistics, and troubleshoot issues that arise during events.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including event sponsors, attendees, and vendors, to ensure that all parties are informed and satisfied.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop event concepts, themes, and marketing materials.
  • Provide on-site event management, including set-up, tear-down, and coordination of volunteers and staff.
  • Previous experience in event planning or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work within a budget.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning software preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-5 years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the individual should have basic computer skills, knowledge of MS Office Software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet software. Proficiency in event planning software preferred.
