About Our Opportunity
As a Sr. Technical Lead of Software Development at Valenz, you will have a pivotal role in leading our team of developers in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our healthcare claim processing applications and compliance services. This role demands not only strong leadership but also a self-motivated and autonomous approach, where you'll independently drive projects to success with your technical abilities and expertise in Agile SDLC. Collaborating across the organization, you'll foster an environment of innovation and precision, ensuring that your team's solutions not only meet but exceed our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Agile Leadership:
  • Implement and champion Agile methodologies within the software development team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and efficient workflow.
  • Lead by example in Agile practices, ensuring the team effectively adopts and thrives on these principles.
• Technical Expertise in Python and Web Development:
  • Utilize deep expertise in Python for hands-on coding and complex problem-solving.
  • Develop innovative solutions and spearhead technical projects.
  • Conduct detailed code reviews, upholding high standards of code quality and compliance.
• Team Development and Project Management:
  • Mentor and support the professional growth of software developers.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to align with company and client objectives.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and oversee Agile ceremonies for effective project tracking.
• Collaboration and Effective Communication:
  • Work closely with internal teams like Systems Architects, Project Managers, and Business Analysts, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively to integrate technological solutions with broader business goals.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Proactively oversee the quality and integrity of the software.
  • Ensure that all applications meet internal standards and industry compliance requirements.

What You’ll Bring to the Team: 

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, with at least 7 years of software engineering experience, preferably in Python application development.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Python, with additional skills in ASGI-WSGI/Flask being beneficial. Demonstrated experience in web application development, especially with VUE.js. Proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQL, ORM frameworks, and web scraping technologies.
• Understanding of SDLC & Agile: A comprehensive grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
• Leadership & Mentoring: Proven track record in leading and mentoring a team of developers, with the ability to take charge of project leadership roles.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, crucial for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Adaptability & Self-Drive: Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and independently drive projects to completion.

A plus if you have:

• .NET / MS-SQL, Jira, and Git experience.
• Familiarity with ANSI X12 healthcare transactions (837, 834, 997, etc.).
• Experience working in the healthcare industry and with claims applications.
