UX/UI Designer

We are seeking a highly motivated entry-level to intermediate UX / UI designer to join our UX team in a hybrid capacity in either of our Ottawa or Calgary locations.

At Nureva we strive to create experiences that follow a user-centered approach to design. The UX/UI designers will work both in up front research to help understand customer needs as well as embedded in a development team to deliver new product solutions in a scrum environment.

You will

• Conduct user research to understand customer problems
• Collaborate with the UX team, product management and development to translate customer needs into product requirements
• Produce artifacts that communicate desired customer experience. (Personas, journey maps, storyboards, flow diagrams, wireframes)
• Create UI mock-ups and interactive prototypes
• Conduct usability testing with prototypes and revise designs based on user feedback
• Maintain a close understanding of the hardware and software development to ensure a smooth user experience
• Create visual design assets for development implementation

You have

• A university degree or equivalent, preferably in design, human-computer Interaction, or other related discipline (software development experience is also an asset)
• Work experience in a UX/ UI design or similar role
• A strong portfolio to showcase your UX/ UI skills
• Proficient experience in design software such as Adobe XD, Illustrator and Miro
• Experience with user interface design patterns and standard user-centered design methodologies
• A creative and natural problem-solving aptitude and have demonstrated good design process
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with Audio technologies, including hobbies and interests.
• Experience designing for IoT devices or software that interfaces with hardware.
• Experience with IOS app design and responsive web design.
• Experience with Flutter UI framework and implementation.
• Experience with Figma.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
