Responsibilities

• Conduct safety orientation for new employees;
• Conduct ongoing training for current employees on equipment, vehicles, trailers, forklifts, etc., and ensure training certifications are up-to-date;
• Assist with Job Hazard Analysis when requested by field superintendents;
• Conduct accident investigations;
• When employees suffer an on-the-job injury, coordinate care with designated medical providers;
• Accompany employees to medical appointments when necessary;
• Update company leadership team about the status of all injured employees on a need-to-know basis;
• Conduct drug and alcohol tests on a random basis;
• Cooperate with project managers to engineer the most effective safety procedures on difficult work sites;
• Inspect and replace, when necessary,  personal protective equipment for field employees;
• Update Safety Data Sheets as necessary.

Requirements

• OSHA 30 training is required;
• College degree is preferred;
• At least four years experience as safety professional preferred;
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel);
