The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) is the nation's voice for community banks with its mission to create and promote an environment where community banks flourish. We are dedicated exclusively to representing the interests of the community banking industry and its membership through effective advocacy, best-in-class education, and innovative products and services. What Is a Community Bank? A community bank is a depository or lending institution that primarily serves businesses and individuals in a small geographic area. Community banks tend to emphasize personal relationships with their customers.
The 2023 ICBA Summer Intern program will be from June 5th to August 4th. The program will be a learning experience and help you gain valuable job experience and develop essential skills. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities and join in networking and social events with other Team Members and fellow interns. Our goal is to have a hybrid program that will be both virtual and in-person. Final determination will be made closer to the program start date.
Summary:
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Information Technology department.
As an IT Intern, you will perform various entry-level functions relating to Information Technology. These duties will include help desk support requests, infrastructure-related tasks, and sometimes, Information Security. This position will allow you to gain experience in day-to-day technical activities, server administration, cloud infrastructure, and windows support. You will also be able to learn about best practices in a practical environment from various team members whose experience will be pivotal to your growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support the IT team in maintaining computer systems, operating systems, and related software
- Assist end-users with technical concerns
- Provide training to end-users where needed
- Install and troubleshoot software, printers, and different hardware devices as needed
- Create and update existing support tickets with appropriate resolution
- Stay current with existing technologies, changes, and updates
- Identify and escalate urgent issues as needed
- Support the Infrastructure team as needed
- Support the Information Security team as needed
- Collaborate with other members of the IT department
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a major in Information Technology or related field.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Prefer junior or senior, but will consider other class levels
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service oriented
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft products.
- Ability to learn and effectively use troubleshooting skills to resolve issues
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize skills to improve existing infrastructure and services
- Certifications are a plus but not required
Candidates should be within commuting distance of downtown Washington DC.
