Job Purpose
The job of a senior brand designer combines marketing and graphic design to create the visual materials that represent a company. Brand designers analyze market trends and formulate strategies to reach consumers and prospects. They also design and produce the materials that satisfy the needs of the business. These materials can include logos, fonts, color palettes and more. Brand designers work with communications professionals and senior staff members to designate target audiences and create consistency across all marketing platforms.
In order to breathe life into a brand and give it a tangible identity, a Brand Designer must continually develop ideas and strategies that show insight and innovation. They express their thinking via words and imagery that cuts through the noise and strikes a chord with the public.
Essential Duties:
Participate in the marketing process from start to finish
Responsible for owning, shaping, developing and delivering materials
Oversee marketing initiatives to ensure that images and messages appropriately contribute to brand identity
Review marketing materials for accuracy and continuity and, in some cases, proofread documents
Lead employees in brand development and consistency across all mediums
Collaborate with key roles involved in ensuring accuracy in any deliverable
Understand and solve design-orientated problems
Clearly visualize and understand target audiences and create materials that will appeal to them
Translate creative thinking into imagery and copy that retains and clearly expresses the initial ideas
Keep creative elements under control in order to deliver them on brief, on time and on budget, often to tight deadlines
Work comfortably both as part of a team and individually
Brief and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals, inside and outside of your own organization, including professionals, vendors, customers and consultants
Strong and relentless eye for the smallest details
Excellent communication, organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
A clear understanding of conceptual methodologies and print and online processes
Capacity to turn complex conceptions into comprehensive design
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
5-7 years in graphic design experience
Minimum of 4-years of experience in business strategy and marketing
Comprehensive understanding of motion graphics/animation
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - strong knowledge of, and demonstrable experience in using Adobe graphics packages and MS Office software
Skilled in WordPress
Concrete understanding of HubSpot Marketing Automation software
Certified in Growth Driven Design
Ability to multi-task and remain organized
